Sourcing & Suppliers

Supporting local growers, farmers and artisans

Our weekly-changing menus are inspired directly by the weekly lists sent to Chloe on a Friday by the lovely folk from The Kitchen Garden People and Church Lane Produce.

Words like ‘seasonal’, ‘local’ and ‘organic’ are often bandied about quite freely in the food industry, but it’s something we take seriously at Chloe’s. We believe in providing the best ingredients we can afford, sourced as locally as possible.

We love working with local growers, farmers, makers and producers, and that by growing together we can make the local food infrastructure and our businesses stronger. If you are a local allotment holder and have excess produce, please get in touch, we’d be more than happy to buy or barter with you!

There are some collaborative/pop-up events held at Chloes that explore different food cultures where it’s not possible to adhere to all of these principles. In these instances, we have done our best to ensure that these are very special experiences and therefore worth sourcing more broadly.

The meat we use is usually organic (or if not grass fed and reared free range).

Our Suppliers

Here is a list of suppliers we use regularly at Chloe’s.

Charlbury Cornerstone (0 miles away)

Charlbury is lucky enough to have this community hub which offers food surplus from SOFEA and Oxford Food Hub, as well as a give-and-take scheme for local gardeners and growers. This is especially abundant during apple season.

Chloe’s Parents’ Garden (8.9 miles away)

Based in Fulbrook, we get an abundant supply of rhubarb, quince, rosemary, edible flowers and herbs from the lovely John and Sarah Horner. Sarah also provides our beautiful flower arrangements every week!

Our most local wines come from our friend Gavin at Freedom of the press.  His winery is in Minster Lovell and his wines are lovingly and attentively made using grapes from Essex.

We work with lovely Sam from Wine Freedom to source the majority of our wines.  They work solely with natural wine producers (so no nasty chemicals) to supply us with delicious wines working in harmony with nature.  Our wines are often biodynamic and organic too.

Our beers come from a selection of breweries including our most local: Little Ox Brew Co  (which are all gluten free), Cheltenham-based Deya Brewing Co and Bristol-Based Wiper and True.

We also use spirits from TOAD, Cotswold, Sibling, Wood Brothers, Two Drifters and Caprilous Distillery.
